Saturday, October 14, 2017: Online Hunter Safety Course Field Day
8:00 am at Madison County Sportsman's Club. Madison County Conservation is offering an online hunter safety course for anyone 12 year of age or older. Anyone interested in the course should register online and complete the coursework prior to the field day. The field day will be held from 8 am – Noon at the Madison County Sportsman’s Club on Saturday, October 14. Details for the course and registration instructions can be found on the Madison County Conservation Board Facebook Page on the Hunter Safety Event Page. Tuesday, October 17, 2017: Evening Hike
6:00 pm at Backbone Trail, Pammel Park. Join our naturalist for a short evening stroll along the Backbone Trail. We will meet at the backbone shelter before making our way down the backbone ridge that runs through the park. Enjoy the views of the fall colors while looking down at the Pammel Park Ford. Photographers are welcome to bring their cameras and capture the fall scenes. The hike will last about 45 minutes as we make our way down the ridge and back to the shelter stopping to admire the views along the way. The sun will set shortly after 6:30 and if the weather cooperates we will pause to take in the sunset. Anyone interested in a longer walk is welcome to head down one of the paths to the ford parking lot or the entrance to Harmon Tunnel. This is a free, family-friendly event open to people of all ages and skill levels. Pre-registration is not required for this event.
